South Korea and the United States have yet to decide when and where to deploy a US Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) system, the defence ministry in Seoul said on 5 July, according to Yonhap news agency.

“The THAAD deployment is being discussed by [the allies’] joint working group, and based on the results of the discussion, a final decision will be made at the South Korea-US-alliance level,” a ministry spokesman was quoted as saying by the media outlet.

“Nothing has been decided yet over the date and location,” he said, dismissing speculation over an imminent deployment decision. […]
