BAE Systems announced on 2 June that a ceremony had been held at its Brough facility in Cumbria, UK, to mark the beginning of start of production for the Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer (AJT) aircraft ordered for the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO).
The RAFO’s Group Captain Abdullah Amour al-Kiyumi and members of his team watched as work began on the first airframe, BAE Systems said.
