The Israeli Navy will gradually introduce a new command-and-control (C2) system for all its vessels within three years, according to a senior naval officer.
Israel’s order of four Saar 6-class missile corvettes from the German company ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) was the catalyst for developing a new C2 system that can be used across the entire fleet. The vessels are expected to arrive over the next 4-5 years and will be primarily tasked with defending Israel’s offshore energy platforms.
