The Israeli Air Force (IAF) has received into service the last of 30 Alenia Aermacchi M-346 Lavi advanced jet trainer aircraft that were ordered in 2012, the service announced on 20 July.

The last of the aircraft landed at Hatzerim Air Force Base in the south of the country on the same day that the IAF announced the conclusion of deliveries via its Twitter account.

Operated by the IAF’s Flight Academy and 102 Squadron, the M-346 has replaced the 1960s-era Douglas TA-4 Skyhawk as Israel’s advanced jet trainer platform, with the first group of cadets completing their initial training on the M-346 in June 2015. […]
