French shipbuilder DCNS has completed assembly of the first Gowind 2500 corvette for the Egyptian Navy at its facility in Lorient.
The vessel will soon be fitted with weapons and equipment for delivery in 2017. Alexandria Shipyard is building the other three Gowinds on order, and in April this year cut the first steel in the construction process.
