Launch Platform: Submarine-launched from a 533 mm torpedo tube; the missile floats to the surface in a special cannister. At the surface, the a sensor initiates the release of the capsule nose and tail sections, followed by the ignition of the missile boost motor. The missile exits the capsule as the wings and fins unfold and it is propelled into its flight.

Misc: It uses a software package, mission computer, integrated GPS/INS, and GPS antenna and receiver from the AGM-84H SLAM-ER (Standoff Land Attack Missile Expanded Response).
Land attack capability of the surfaced-launched RGM-84L missiles sold to Egypt in 2009 were removed before delivery following Israeli pressure — unclear if the same applies to new UGM-84Ls.
