As of December 18th 2013, Turkey’s first high resolution electro-optical satellite GÖKTÜRK-2 completed it’s first year in space.

The satellite developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI) and TÜBİTAK Space cooperation, performed 5.344 passes in one year and gathered high resolution images from all around the world without any geographical restriction.

Indigenously designed GÖKTÜRK-2 spacecraft has been integrated and tested in TAI’s AIT Facilities and launched on December 18, 2012 from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, China with a LM-2D Launcher.
