The Somali government has signed a military co-operation treaty with the United Arab Emirates which seeks to strengthen ties between the two countries, Kuwait News Agency reported Friday (November 7th).

The agreement, signed by UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Somali Minister of Defence Mohamed Sheikh Hassan Hamud, follows a series of similar treaties the Somali government has signed with countries such as Turkey and Italy.
