The US Department of Defense (DoD) announced on 27 August that it had awarded a USD11.8 million contract to Science Applications International Corp for the delivery of “weapon systems support and sustainment” for Sikorsky MH-60R and MH-60S helicopters operated by Brazil, Denmark, Saudi Arabia and the United States.

Saudi Arabia does not currently operate either type, but the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced in May that the State Department had approved the possible sale of 10 MH-60R multi-mission helicopters and associated equipment and services to the kingdom for an estimated USD1.9 billion.

The DoD has not announced a contract for Sikorsky and Lockheed Martin to build the Saudi MH-60Rs as yet. […]
