Anatoly Isaikin, the director of Russian state arms export agency Rosoboronexport, has said that work on Iran’s S-300 long-range air defence systems has already begun.
Iran originally ordered S-300 systems from Russia in 2007, but Moscow cancelled the contract in 2010. President Vladimir Putin reversed that decision in April.
“We have been given the order to renew work [on the Iranian S-300 systems] and, as the executors, we are doing this, but much time has gone by and the S-300 system has changed, so we are working on the modernisation of the system,” Isaikin said during a press conference on 27 October. […]
