Official Turkish and UN documents show that Turkey has exported 47 tons of weapons and ammunition to neighboring Syria since June, according to a Turkish media report published on Sunday.
Turkey denies any arms transfer to Syria, saying it only allows the passage of humanitarian aid into the neighboring country, which has been devastated by a two-and-a-half-year civil war. Ankara is a staunch opponent of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and has been supporting the opposition fighting to topple his regime.
