Lockheed Martin Corp., the world’s largest defense contractor by sales, has formed a technology-focused Israeli subsidiary as it seeks to win new defense contracts in the country, a company executive said.

The Israeli arm of the company, Lockheed Martin Israel Ltd., will focus on cybersecurity, enterprise information technology, data centers, mobile, analytics and cloud, said Haden Land, vice president of research and technology for Lockheed Martin. It will look for partnerships, investments and acquisitions, he said. Mr. Land is in Israel this week for talks with Israeli government officials, and to oversee the local rollout.

The August registration with the Israel Corporations Authority is part of Lockheed Martin’s efforts to win Ministry of Defense contracts for the Israel Defense Forces’ move of technology units from Tel Aviv to a new cluster of bases on the outskirts of Beersheba, in the country’s south. […]
