Lebanon is to receive 24 CAESAR 155 mm self-propelled artillery systems under the equipment package negotiated between Saudi Arabia and France, company officials told IHS Jane’s on 23 February.

The systems are to be delivered using the standard French Army configuration and could be delivered in as little as 15 months as the company’s CAESAR production lines are currently operational. However, continued delays in the progression of the deal – which is being funded by Saudi Arabia and delivered by France’s ODAS – mean that it is likely to be longer before the systems are delivered.
