The Lebanese Armed Forces prevented an armed group entering Lebanese territory from Syria on Thursday.

“At five thirty this evening the LAF thwarted an infiltration attempt by an armed group from Syrian territory [who were] headed for Lebanon, [entering] from the wasteland around [the Syrian border village of] Naamat via illegal crossings in Masharee al-Qaa,” the National News Agency reported.

“The [LAF] opened fire on the group before they crossed the border, [forcing them] to retreat.”
