Japan’s proposed guidelines for military exports could permit sales to Israel, a panel set up by the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LPD) was told on 14 March.

The security panel has been established by the LPD to seek a party-level agreement on the understanding of the proposed guidelines, which, if implemented, would abolish Japan’s self-imposed ban on military exports.
