Iran has equipped its warships and destroyers with the most state-of-the-art long-range missiles, a senior commander said, adding that the Navy is testing one of its advanced home-made destroyers, named Damavand, in the country’s territorial waters.

“Today, Iran’s warships and destroyers are equipped with the missiles which can fire at targets beyond the horizon and its submarines are equipped with highly smart and powerful torpedoes which can target aggressors from beneath the surface,” Deputy Commander of the Iranian Navy for Coordination Rear Admiral Amir Rastegari said on Monday.

He also referred to Iran’s progress in building different Naval equipment and weapons, and said, “Damavand destroyer which is the second generation of Mowj class destroyers, was built in the Defense Ministry and is now under test with the Navy’s cooperation.” […]
