U.S. and coalition military forces have continued to attack ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq, Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials reported today.

Officials reported details of the latest strikes, which took place between 8 a.m. yesterday and 8 a.m. today, local time, noting that assessments of results are based on initial reports.

Airstrikes in Syria

Attack, bomber, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft conducted 13 airstrikes in Syria:

— Near Kobani, 10 airstrikes struck seven ISIS tactical units and a large ISIS unit and destroyed eight ISIS staging positions, 13 ISIS fighting positions and two ISIS vehicles.

— Near Abu Kamal, an airstrike destroyed an ISIS bunker.

— Near Raqqah, two airstrikes struck an ISIS tactical unit and an ISIS weapon cache and destroyed an ISIS guard facility.

Airstrikes in Iraq

Attack, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft conducted 10 airstrikes in Iraq:

— Near Tal Afar, three airstrikes struck a large ISIS unit and two ISIS logistic routes and destroyed an ISIS armored vehicle, two ISIS vehicles, five ISIS buildings, an ISIS shipping container, three ISIS heavy weapons, an ISIS bridge, five ISIS road crossings and an ISIS improvised explosive device.

— Near Qaim, an airstrike destroyed two ISIS bunkers and a buried ISIS structure.

— Near Asad, an airstrike struck an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed an ISIS building.

— Near Beiji, an airstrike destroyed two ISIS buildings.

— Near Ramadi, an airstrike struck an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed two ISIS buildings.

— Near Mosul, three airstrikes struck three ISIS tactical units and an ISIS checkpoint and destroyed an ISIS building, an ISIS heavy weapon and two ISIS vehicles.

Part of Operation Inherent Resolve

The strikes were conducted as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, the operation to eliminate the ISIS terrorist group and the threat they pose to Iraq, Syria, the region, and the wider international community. The destruction of ISIS targets in Syria and Iraq further limits the terrorist group’s ability to project terror and conduct operations, officials said.
