The Egyptian and French Naval units finished the “Cleopatra” military drills held in the French territorial waters for first time in 25 years, ran for several days as part of efforts to boost maritime cooperation between the two countries.

The exercises aimed at developing the combat capabilities of the naval forces in Egypt and France. Those exercises included training on freeing hostages, facing different forms of aggression, various combat skills and dealing with explosives. The Egyptian and French Naval units used live ammunition in that exercise.
