State Comptroller Joseph Shapira on Wednesday published a report on defense-related issues, noting deficiencies and a lack of readiness related to: the Navy’s elite fighting unit Flotilla 13, to call up reserves under rocket and missile fire, potential chemical weapons attacks, potential attacks on new natural gas installations and a myriad of other issues.

Though a declassified version of the report was made fully public on Wednesday, a more complete classified version of the report was filed with the Knesset on Monday.

As to the Israel Navy’s flagship elite commando unit, Flotilla 13, the report found a variety of flaws in the way the military organizes and maintains the special force.
