The second suicide bomb in two nights hit Lebanon’s capital Wednesday, when explosives detonated in a Mediterranean seaside hotel near the local Saudi embassy as security forces alerted to a bomb plot were raiding the hotel.

The latest bomb killed one alleged bomber and left another with severe burns, as well as wounding 11 members of Lebanon’s general security forces and civilians, an official with Lebanon’s security forces said.

Both men had entered the country on passports from Saudi Arabia, the security official said. After the bomb, which sent orange flames and smoke licking up the front of the seafront hotel, authorities recovered another seven kilograms of explosives from the hotel, local media reported. […]
