Despite reassurances during the US-GCC defense ministerial meeting last week in Jiddah, Arabian Gulf states are still eyeing strong Kremlin relations.

US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel told his Gulf Cooperation Council counterparts that the security challenges facing the gulf region required its countries to combine their efforts, affirming the US commitment to strengthening joint defense cooperation.
