Airstrikes against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria continued at a steady rate in February, while humanitarian airdrops in the region appear to have ended, according to statistics released this week.

The Operation Inherent Resolve coalition in February dropped 1,756 bombs on targets in Iraq and Syria. In January, the coalition dropped 2,308 weapons in the fight, the most since the operation began with a low of 211 strikes August. The coalition has averaged 1,421 strikes monthly over seven months.

Since January, coalition aircraft have flown 937 sorties with at least one bomb dropped. In addition, they have flown 1,221 surveillance flights and 2,163 tanker sorties. […]
